About the event
Les has been a popular Bodhran player and teacher in the region for over 29 years. He found his passion for this instrument through his mother's influence of her heritage and rhythm. He brings many hours of experience in performing at various venues and playing at many Irish Trad sessions. He has made pilgrimages to Ireland to absorb the tutelage of some of the top Bodhran players in the Irish Tradition and had years of experience playing in groups like the Grand River Ceili Band and Floating Widget (including 4 appearances with the Chieftains). A frequent teacher at the Spring Rain Weekend and Goderich Celtic College, Les can connect you with the heartbeat of Irish Traditional music.
In this class, Les will cover Jig and Reel rhythms and how to employ them in accompaniment.
We are very excited to offer this class in person for the first time since March 2020! Please be advised that everyone must show proof of vaccination and wear a mask during the class as per Registry Theatre protocols. Sláinte!
