About the event
Les will connect you with the heartbeat of Irish Traditional music by explaining basic techniques for playing Jigs and Reels. Useful tips on holding the Bodhran and tipper handling will be covered in addition to tricks to mastering Jigs in 6/8 and Reels in 4/4.
Les has been a popular Bodhran player and teacher in the region for over 30 years. He brings many hours of experience in performing at various venues from Roy Thompson Hall to local pub Trad sessions. He has made pilgrimages to Ireland to absorb the tutelage of some of the top Bodhran players in the Irish Tradition and has years of experience playing in groups like the Grand River Ceili Band and Floating Widget. A frequent teacher at the Spring Rain Weekend and Goderich Celtic College, Les will connect you with the heartbeat of Irish Traditional music by explaining basic techniques for playing Jigs and Reels.
