Join us for a screening of TG4's (Teilifís na Gaeilge, the Irish-language public television channel in Ireland) documentary, Éire agus Na Chéad Náisiúin (Ireland and the First Nations). This film delves into the intricate and often conflicting roles that Irish settlers played in Native American history, covering trade and war, alliances and betrayal. Drawing on insights from renowned Irish historians and notable First Nations representatives, the documentary highlights how Irish emigrants were both the oppressed and the oppressors.


Following the showing, there will be a talk back with respected Mohawk Elder, Tom Porter of the Mohawk Community of Kanatsiohareke, who is featured in the film.
