About the event

This is a workshop for those who already know something about playing guitar. The aim of this workshop is to get you thinking about some ways to use the guitar to play Irish/Celtic/Traditional Guitar stylings. We’ll touch on

· Common modes/scales used in Irish folk music,

· Use of altered tunings to bring out the “drone’ effect,

· The “hows” and “whys” of using a capo,

· Strum patterns/Right-hand techniques to make strumming more interesting.

· Selection of songs to support the above.

Please note that according to the Registry Theatre protocols all participants must show their vaccination QR code and wear a mask during the class.  We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you after this long hiatus!
