About the event
This two-hour session is designed to build your confidence as a beginner or novice mender. Bring your worn and moth-eaten knitwear; we’ll talk through how to choose the best repair technique, then get patching!
This class is dedicated to the classic woven darn: learn the techniques, when to use it, and how to make your darning neat and strong.
Woven darns can be bold and visible or casual and subtle, and they work wonders on both handmade and ready-to-wear knits. Bring your worn socks, sweaters, hoodies, scarves, mittens, hats, or even blankets, and tap into the everyday magic of mending.
Skills needed: basic hand-sewing experience is an asset, though not required.
Supplies provided: yarn, needles, darning tools, and fabric for practice.
Bring: your knit garment(s) in need of mending (or one you want to learn on), plus matching yarn if desired. We will have a range of yarns available,…
