About the event
Travellers Joy emerged out of the Waterloo Region’s session scene. Three folks who met at several different sessions, and then started playing together in their living rooms, realizing that there was a common purpose in their music and that indefinable connection in their playing.
Gwen Potter emigrated to Canada from England in 2009 bringing her love of traditional folk music with her. Gwen plays a Viola d'amore - a many-stringed Baroque instrument - and is a regular session musician and member of a number of folk bands, performing at events around SW Ontario.
Part of a large musical family in Norfolk County, Tom Nunn stepped on stage at age 12 to join his father’s wedding band, performing every weekend for 10 years in that group, while also venturing into folk, bluegrass and Celtic music along the way.
